Ratanapura "Ava" Kingdoms first period Royal Palace, home to it's 17 Kings. Only remnants remain, however with the discovery of Ava Kingdoms treasure hid by King Mobye Narapati, the legacy of this magnificent ancient kingdom lives on.
Ratanapura was the ancient kingdom of Myanmar (1365-1555 AD). It stood as the imperial capital for centuries. Today, Ratanapura is usually called Ava or Innwa, meaning “big lake.” It was strategically located near Mandalay, built on an island between the massive Irrawaddy and Myitnge rivers. During consecutive dynasties and rulers, Ratanapura became the premier political, military, and religious center of the region.
The Ava period was a time of cultural and religious progression. Ratanapura thrived on spiritual symbolism and their deep rooted religious foundation. The kings were inspired by heavenly dreams, prayers, spiritual shamans, and animalistic rituals. Pyin Yarshis' traveled incredible distances to share their genius nature, while numerous other gifted peoples' brought their abilities and desire to show loyalty hoping to gain connection to the kingdom. Angel Weights “statues" and inspired sculptures were evidence of their gifted hands and devoted hearts. Even today, much of the dynasty’s religious inspiration, folklore, and cultural markings are still evident in Myanmar.
The kings of Ava’s self-proclaimed gifts to their descendants were written on the walls of the royal chambers. They described their physical emblems, dreams, visions, and understanding of powers and believed higher influences. Influences associated with bringing unity, strength and prosperity to all their generations. Unfortunately, such history is often lost. However, this new evidence and information found in their diaries is of greatest importance to not only Myanmar (one of the earliest homes of mankind), but also the world. It further defines the magnificence of the regions of Pagan, Ava, and Mandalay. Upon understanding, it’s easy to understand why it flourished into one of the most magnificent civilizations in history. It is truly one of the wonders of the world.
